Declaring a restructuring consolidation workshop for CADP participants from five states, comprising Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Enugu and Cross Rivers, open on dairy, fruits and maize value chain, Dr. Aminu explained that the aim of the workshop is to clearly work out modalities of implementation for the newly approved restructured CADP which tallies with the two years’ extension period by the World Bank.
 “CADP is embarking on a women and youth empowerment project in line with the federal government’s transformation agenda and our target is to reach 200 women and youth in the five participating states. The project is also introducing a post-harvest processing centre and an aggregation centre so that farmers can process and package their crops with a view to attracting better market,” he said.
He advised participants to contribute meaningfully for the smooth implementation of the 18 months’ programme for the project.
 The state Project Coordinator, Malam Dallatu Mustapha, said 199 Commodity Interest Groups (CIGs) have so far benefited in the three value chains  including 2, 391 males and 223 females adding that, each of the five participating states was given products related to their states. He said the project intends to partner with the states in the area of upgrading three abattoirs in Zaria, Kaduna and Kafanchan for more hygienic ways of slaughtering animals.
