Feyinsetan Are, the committee’s coach, said in Lagos on Friday that the competition would hold from March 9 to March 13.

Are said the athletes, selected from different states, had prepared adequately and would perform well in the tournament.

“My athletes from Delta, Edo, Rivers, Ogun and Abia states are very experienced and have been undergoing intensive training for the competition,” he said.

Are said the team experienced problems training with obsolete facilities but hoped that the experience and determination of the athletes would make them to succeed.

“We still find it difficult to train under these hard situations which are not conducive for the athletes.

“But we are heading for a good course, we hope to win the qualifiers and also the tournament,” he said.

Are said the Federal Government was sponsoring the officials and 12 athletes, including six males and six females, who will compete in different categories. (NAN)
