Adagunodo-Oluwatukesi said this, would ultimately boost medical services in Nigeria and stem down the high rate of medical tourism prevalent among influential Nigerians.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Trust in Ibadan,  Adagunodo-Oluwatukesi, a former Deputy Chief Whip in the Osun State House of Assembly, expressed concern over the huge number of foreign exchange being wasted on medical tourism by influential Nigerians .
He described this as “incredible” as, according to him, such funds could have been better deployed to the development of local health infrastructure and facilities.
He said:  “We have several highly respected Nigerian professional doctors all over the world.  But if you have them here and they don’t have equipment to use locally, it is as if you don’t have them.
“The problem we are having in Nigeria today is having  up-to-date equipment to analyze or diagnose sickness.  And I want to say that the only solution to it is PPP.  You cannot leave it all to government.  And you can only get PPP arrangement in a conducive atmosphere.  Private people will only invest their money where they can be rest assured of security not where you have the fear of terrorism or perceived breakup of the country,” he said.
