The police in Kano State have arraigned a man, Bashir Abubakar Brigade, before a Kano Shari’a Court sitting in Fagge ‘Yan Alluna, for allegedly stealing mobile phones belonging to groom’s friends during a wedding ceremony.
Bashir, a praise singer, was arrested for allegedly stealing two mobile phones valued at N125, 000.00 and N25, 000.00 respectively.
State prosecuting counsel, Barr. Zaharaddeen Mustapha, read the charges to the suspect, which included conspiracy to commit crime and stealing.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges, insisting that he was not a thief but a praise singer.
The court granted him bail on condition that he brings his blood relative and certificate of a house he owns.
The Khadi Umar Lawan Abubakar adjourned the case till November 25 for witness testimony.
