PRESIDENT, EMNAMU FOUNDATION, DR. EMMANUEL MUSA, INAUGURATES MEGA SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE AHEAD OF DISBURSEMENT
The Adamawa State Students studying in all tertiary institutions in Adamawa State and Public Universities across the country will soon heave a sigh of relief following a Mega scholarship scheme by one of Nigeria’s finest philanthropist Dr. Emmanuel N. Musa the president and founder of EMNAMU Foundation.
The Committee which had its innaugural meeting via zoom is chaired by Prof. Aliyu Manpa’a of University of Maiduguri while Professor Dahiru Dasin the former Dean of School of Engineering, Modibbo Adama University (MAU) -Yola will be the Co- chair. Comrade Kukuya Godwin Bulndi is the Secretary of the committee while Hon. Martins Yanatham Dickson is the Co-Secretary.
Other prominent members of the committee include Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers and specialists from different fields of endeavor.
Innuagurating the committee, Dr. Emmanuel charged them to come up with a very formidable criteria that will ensure a robust and an all inclusive scholarship scheme.
He underscored the fact that his desire is to ensure a credible and life transforming scholarship that will ensure the children of the poor get educated so as to compete favourably in the job market.
“I want to ensure that all academically hard working students of Adamawa State complete their academic trainings successfully and are not shortchanged by circumstances” Dr. Emmanuel was quoted to have said.
Dr. Emmanuel further states that “as much as it lies within my power no student shall drop out of school for lack of money to pay tuition fees”.
The Mega scholarship scheme is designed to accomodate over seven thousand students studying in Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, Nursing schools, health institutions, any accredited tertiary institution in Nigeria including free UTME forms for exceptional students across Northeastern Nigeria.
In the coming days, the committee is expected to roll out criteria for eligibility, selection and the processes to be followed that is expected to cover Institutions from States like Adamawa, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, Yobe and other States that are catchment areas to Adamawa indigenes across the country.
It can be recalled that Dr. Emmanuel N. Musa has carried out several forms of philanthropic interventions in Adamawa State and beyond; and has turned around the fortune of many, pulling out many families from poverty and dire situations.
These Mega scholarship scheme is coming at a time when many parents find it difficult to pay tuition fees and see their wards through school.
Dr. Emmanuel has once again yielded himself as a messiah that is positioned to bring succor to parents and students alike.
