It is no longer news that Nigeria is presently being ravaged by insecurity and Abuja is gradually becoming the capital of insecurity in Nigeria. As the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who resides in Abuja where Aso Villa is located- a city, which is the security headquarters of the nation and it is called home of peace and unity, it is imperative that we draw your attention to the carnage currently ravaging our capital where the residents can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed. It appears our intelligence agencies are finding it difficult to respond to the issue of kidnapping in the Federal Capital Territory.
Mr. President, Nigeria is bleeding. For some time now, bandits have taken over some junctions in the federal capital, while kidnappers are having a field day in some communities.
The resultant effect of these criminal acts is the recent attacks on the Gbaupe community, a rural village behind ACO Estate, Lugbe, along the Abuja Airport Road, where 12 people, including a 9-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, were kidnapped, plus 30 persons kidnapped in Dei Dei town located off Kubwa.
Sadly, the security situation in FCT is just a reflection of what is happening in the entire country.

It is, therefore, time for you to take decisive actions, Mr. President. Our intelligence units have failed. Our Armed Forces are overstretched. The average Nigerian is left at the mercy of bandits and kidnappers.
Sequel to the foregoing, we, therefore, call for the total reorganisation of our security units in order to effectively tackle the present insecurity. We suggest that a special anti-terrorism or anti-banditry unit be created.
Lastly, the government must address the root cause of the insecurity by providing employment and basic amenities for the average Nigerian.
Mr. President, please remember that the protection of life and property is the government’s primary responsibility!
