A presidential hopeful under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections, Senator Datti Baba Ahmed has asked Nigerians not to falter in their quest for a secured and prosperous nation.

In his Sallah message, Datti urged Nigerians to live in peace and harmony with one another devoid of ethnic or religious affiliations.

He described unity as a strong weapon for a better and prosperous nation, and urged for a sustained prayers, and devotion for peace and unity in the country as the 2019 general elections draws nearer.

“The Holy Month of Ramadan affords us the golden opportunity of renewal in thoughts and deeds towards our creator and humanity by prioritizing core themes and values of peace, boundless love for one another, sincerity, holiness and respect for humanity.

“The afore-mentioned themes should not end with the month of Ramadan, but they should be effortlessly demonstrated after the month in order to ameliorate Nigeria’s plight and make her into a better society where her current challenges of insecurity, disrespect for rule of law, corruption among others will become things of the past.

“We should continue to pray for peace, strong united Nigeria, restoration and stability for our dear nation.

“Ahead of 2019 I humbly take this annual occasion to implore Nigerians not to give up in the quest for a secured and prosperous nation, let’s not give in for a leadership based on sympathy and sentiments. We stand to gain on ground of competence, dynamic and strong will to take Nigeria to greater heights.

“Let’s ensure we stay very united and indivisible by religion, regional, ethnic, moral or political lines; because unity is a strong weapon for a better and prosperous nation.”
