Dangote made disclosure at the end of a meeting of the committee in Abuja, recently.
He said the measure was long overdue, calling for the completion of the projects on time.
He added that the committee overcame the initial setbacks occasioned by delays in fulfillment of pledges made by organisations and individuals during the fund raising for flood disaster relief held in October last year and was now set to achieve its mandate.
He said the committee has enough funds to begin disaster relief projects which would benefit over 24 states.
Dangote said such infrastructure would cater for displaced persons in the event of any disaster. These facilities, he said, would have adequate water and power supply to sustain the relief efforts, disclosing that the committee was intervening in other disaster areas, such as insurgency, apart from flood related disaster.
He said a sub-committee headed by Ambassador Godknows Igali was working on plans to intervene in a variety of disaster scenario and will submit its report next week for immediate consideration and implementation.
Also the Director General, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Mike Omeri, who is a member of the committee assured Nigerians of fair, balanced and equitable distribution of disaster relief projects which, he said, would be sited on merit and need, devoid of political considerations and other sentiments.
