The Director-General of Tinubu Support Group Management Council, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin says it is unfair to interpret jogging by the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Ameachi, during his presidential declaration as mocking the age of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Amaechi had while declaring in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday ran around the stadium ostensibly to show his fitness for the office.
Many Nigerians have raised questions about the health and fitness of Tinubu who is one of the foremost presidential aspirants in APC to contest.
He had prior to his declaration to contest spent months in London for a medical treatment. It was later revealed that he went for a knee surgery.
But Amaechi in a dramatic display at the stadium in Port Harcourt ran around the stadium in a manner suggesting his fitness to withstand the vigour of the presidency.
However, this did not go down well with Tinubu loyalists and supporters.
In a tweet, Jibrin, a former Rep member, said, “It’s unfair to minister Amaechi for some people to think by running round the stadium, he was trying to mock the age of incumbent President Buhari, brand new APC Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu and incoming president, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I believe he was only trying to save time..”
