Nasarawa State House of Assembly Speaker, Danladi Jatau, says “there are still controversies that need to be addressed” following the just concluded party primary elections.

Jatau, while speaking on the floor during plenary in Lafia after members resumed from the Sallah break, said: “There are some of our colleagues that are still pursuing their grievances in the appropriate quarter, which we are believing, we are trusting God will answer our prayers.”

The Speaker, who lost the All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives primary for Karu/Keffi/Kokona constituency, urged members who did not secure tickets to embrace sportsmanship.

“So I pray that every one of us will develop the spirit of sportsmanship. There are two things involved in politics: either you win or you lose. As for me, I have developed that spirit of sportsmanship in me for quite a long time. What happened to me, I looked at it as an act of God and I have taken it in good faith,” he said.

Jatau congratulated colleagues who secured party tickets and noted that both those who won and lost at the primaries had resumed legislative duties as the House moves from oversight functions back to full plenary business.
