The governing council of the Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria says it needs the Federal Government’s assistance to access forex to enable printers import papers.
Speaking in Abuja Thursday after a meeting with major printing stakeholders, the chairman of the council, Olugbemi Malomo, said this was to prevent job loss in the industry in the face of skyrocketing prices of materials.
The council assured of its readiness to adopt strict enforcement measures to curb activities of quacks, pirates, counterfeiters and all unregistered printers.
While presenting a strategic framework to achieve its goals, the council called for a curriculum and a standard template of requirements at the entry point for people seeking to be members.
“We want government assistance to access forex to enable printers import paper on their own like it was done in the past.”
