The Senior Pastor, Glorious Liberty Church (GLC) Global, Richard Osanaiye, has called on the Federal Government to prioritise quality healthcare access for all Nigerians.

He spoke in Abeokuta, Ogun State, during distribution of food items and free medical service to the needy persons organised by the GLC Global.

At least 5,000 needy persons including children, students and widows benefitted from exercise tagged “GLC-Cares Food and Medical Outreach.”

Speaking with newsmen, Pastor Osanaiye said the gesture was driven by the biblical instructions to care for the less privileged in the society.

He also said the church is committed to giving succour to Nigerians who are facing economic challenges.

According to him, results of the medical test revealed that many people are silently battling with diabetes and high blood pressure among others health issues unknowingly.

He appealed to the government to prioritise healthcare for its citizens, noting that the health insurance scheme should be made accessible for citizens and that the system should work for all.

The clergyman said: “My advice to the government is to take healthcare seriously because we have a lot of people with health issues, particularly the elderly ones, a lot of them have high blood pressure just so you see some people that will just fall and die, you think there is a demon in them? No, they have a health issue.

“For some, we can handle it, and for some, we refer them to the hospital, like recently we supported one man to undergo cataract surgery. I also remember that there is a brother who needs a kidney transplant, we have to come up with a kidney transplant for the person.”

He called on the Church to ensure they play their part to address the issue of moral decadence in the society.
