Prioritise workers welfare, PRP urges Tinubu

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to prioritize workers’ welfare and elevate the living standards of underprivileged Nigerians as the nation observes Workers’ Day.

In a statement issued by Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, Acting National Publicity Secretary, the party expressed solidarity with Nigerian workers and recognized their significant contributions to the country’s growth and development.

“The PRP acknowledges the myriad challenges confronting workers and the marginalized in Nigeria, ranging from inadequate wages and substandard working conditions to unemployment and a lack of social protection. We firmly stand behind their struggle for a better life, equitable wages, and enhanced working conditions,” the statement read.

“On this occasion of Workers’ Day, the PRP urged the Nigerian government to prioritize policies aimed at uplifting workers’ living standards and supporting the less fortunate. This entails implementing a living wage policy, enhancing social protection measures, and investing in quality education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

“Furthermore, the PRP called upon organised labour unions to persist in advocating for workers’ rights and to collaborate with the government in achieving these objectives. The party reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the cause of Nigerian workers and the marginalised.

“We pledge to tirelessly champion their interests and ensure that their voices are heard and their rights protected. Together, we will strive to build a nation where the dignity of labor is truly esteemed, and all citizens are afforded equal opportunities to prosper.”
