The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has emphasised the critical role the private sector plays in ensuring the federal government achieves its economic diversification target.

Emeka Obegolu SAN stated this during his inauguration as the 12th ACCI president in Abuja over the weekend.

Obegolu said the measures put in place by the federal government have brought hardship to Nigerians but will yield the desired results with time.

In his goodwill message, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, urged the ACCI to develop programmes that would include youth and women empowerment in society.
