Produce skilled manpower – Monarch tells rector

The Clan Head of Ukana West, Essien Udim Local Government Area, Okuku Silvanus Udo Ekanem, has called on the Acting Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, Dr. (Mrs) Emem Udofia, to ensure that the institution should remain relevant because polytechmic education produces skilled manpower for industries. 

Speaking in Ukana when the management paid him a visit, Okuku Ekanem said polytechnic education builds a pool of skilled manpower for development.

He urged the management of the polytechnic to work hard to expand its programmes and make them relevant, adding that the community would contribute its quota to it. 

He also promised to protect the institution’s material goods against vandals.

In her response, the Ag rector called for a closer collaboration between the community and the polytechnic.
