Professor Ahmed Ahidjo has been appointed as the new Chief Medical Director (CMD) for the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).
The appointment, according to a circular signed by B. G. Muhammed, Director of Administration of the Federal Government institution, was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari for an initial term of four years with effect from 3rd September, 2018.
He took over from Professor Abdurrahman Tahir, who held the position for two terms and now assumes a new duty as the Senior Special Adviser to the FCT Minister on Health and Human Services.
Professor Ahidjo, 56, a professor of Interventional Radiology, was before his new appointment the Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, University of Maiduguri.
Professor Ahidjo, who hails from Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, was a member of the UMTH Board of Management.
