About Prof. Uche Uwaleke

Prof. Uwaleke is a Financial Economist & Professor of Capital Market and the Pioneer Director, Institute of Capital Market Studies Nasarawa State University Keffi.

He is also the Pioneer HOD Securities and Investment Management department Nasarawa State University Keffi as well as the pioneer President, Capital Market Academics of Nigeria.

A former Hon. Commissioner for Finance, Imo State, Prof. Uwaleke also served as former Chief Economist & Director of Research at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Nigeria and also a former member, Nigerian Stock Exchange Advisory Committee

He is also a Former member Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria Governing Council  and the Chairman, SEC Committee of Experts on Capital Market Studies in Nigerian Universities

In the same vein, he serves as the Chairman, Board of Directors Nasarawa State University Microfinance Bank and the Chairman, Board of Directors, Nasarawa State University Consults Ltd

He is also the Independent (Non Executive Director), Cowry Treasurers Ltd and a Member, Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms.

Additionally, Prof Uwaleke is a Member, Nigerian Economic Society Governing Council

He is a Fellow, Capital Market Academics of Nigeria FCMA, a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. FCS, aFellow, Institute of Capital Market Registrars FCMR and a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria FCA

He is also Fellow, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria FCIB and Fellow, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria FCTI.

Finally, Prof Uwaleke is the Author of ‘10Ps of the Nigerian Capital Market’ and ‘Essentials of Non-Interest Capital Market’.
