A gunman has shot and killed a professor on the campus of Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi.
The Bolivar County Coroner’s office told the BBC that the victim was a male professor at the school.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching for the gunman who is still at large.
All campus buildings have been locked from the inside and officials are advising people to shelter in place.
The coroner’s office said the victim was a white man in his 50s and he was shot in his office inside the university’s Jobe Hall building.
Roughly 3,500 students are enrolled at the university near the Arkansas border.
