The Edo State Police Command has decorated 42 newly promoted officers with their new ranks.

Daily Trust reports that three Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), while 39 Superintendents of Police (SPs) were decorated as CSPs.

Decorating the officers, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Monday Agbonika, described the new ranks as a call to higher responsibility, professionalism, discipline and renewed commitment to duty.

He said promotion came with increased public trust and accountability, urging the officers to uphold the core values of the force, respect human rights and remain resolute in the protection of lives and property across the state.

Speaking on behalf of the decorated officers, ACP Matthew Sunday Kalu assured that they would justify the trust placed in them.
