Prophet Joshua, come down to earth

According to Joshua, who spoke to some reporters in Lagos, a mysterious aircraft hovered over the building several times before it collapsed. The reporters said they were shown a video footage on an aircraft that passed over the building four times between 11.30am and 11.54am. Even though the video footage showed the aircraft, it did not show it dropping anything into the building. In any case, the reporters said the building collapsed at 12.44pm, nearly one hour after the plane flew over it. What kind of bomb is it that works an hour after a plane drops it?
The church leader proceeded from there to allege that it was a ‘Boko Haram air force’ that did the job. He said, “These people (Boko Haram) have entered into Lagos. Remember the last issue of Boko Haram at the synagogue, the press went against it and even the then commissioner of police said it was false, but he later confirmed it. In two or three weeks time you will believe what I am saying. They will not stop here. You will begin to see signs and if we believe it, we can begin to educate our people on what to do.”
But while the prophet was blaming a phantom Boko Haram air force for the collapse of his church building, early signs were that it was due to the usual problem of faulty foundations, structural defects, illegal addition of unapproved floors and possible use of substandard materials. Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning Toyin Ayinde said when Governor Babatunde Fashola visited the site that the 5-storey building had no government approval for its construction. Records in his office, he said, showed that no permit was given to civil engineers who erected the building but he asked the church to produce the papers that it has. Twenty four hours later, it had not done so.
So, Prophet Joshua, unless you can convince Lagos State town planning authorities that the building had the right permit and conformed to all the exacting demands of the law, why should we go chasing shadows about an imaginary Boko Haram airforce?

Another Mbu in Gombe?
The arrest and detention, for several hours in Gombe, of Senator Mohamed Danjuma Goje for holding a political rally in Kumo within the Gombe Central Senatorial District that he represents in the Senate, could be a sign that another Mbu Joseph Mbu type of policeman is on the prowl in the area.
According to the senator who is a former governor of the state, he was touring Kumo when heavily armed policemen arrived in eight trucks and demanded that he should accompany them to the State Police Headquarters. He quoted the police commissioner as saying that he should have gone to Kumo with no more than two cars but that he had a mammoth crowd following him, so they had to arrest him. State police spokesman Fwaje Attajiri later explained that Goje told the police that he was going to attend a wedding in Kumo but “after the wedding we had information that there was a campaign rally taking place in Kumo and some of these hoodlums were there with weapons…We don’t want these youths to take advantage of the personality to cause havoc.”
Police, you will not allow a serving Senator to hold a rally in his own constituency but you allow Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria [TAN] to hold rallies all over the country? All the thugs TAN had at their rallies, you mean you did not see them? If some youths are carrying weapons to Goje’s rally, what stops you from arresting them? Gombe State police commissioner, are you another Mbu Joseph Mbu?
