Hundreds of women from Ovia South West constituency of Edo State yesterday protested at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), following the declaration of the state constituency election inconclusive by the Returning Officer, Professor Francis Omoruyi.

The women demanded that Sunday Aghedo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) be declared winner of the election.

Their spokeswoman, Mrs Angela Okpame said, “We voted for Hon Sunday Aghedo in 2019, he was denied inauguration and so for four years, Ovia South West has no representation.”

Also speaking. the APC state chairman, retired Col. David Imuse, called on INEC to release the results of the election.

Responding, the Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Timidi Wariowei, said he has listened to their complaints and the petition from Aghedo, and assured the women that the petition would be sent to its headquarters for final decision on the matter.
