Residents of Ajebamidele area of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, have protested the kidnap of four people in the area.
The angry residents trooped out en masse on Tuesday and blocked the Ado-Ikere highway which left hundreds of commuters stranded and paralysed the economic and social activities in the town.

The protesters said a couple identified as Mr and Mrs Falomo, and a man said to be a pastor were among those kidnapped at Goshen land community in Ajebamidele.
Mrs Falomo was said to have been trailed to her residence by the kidnappers armed with AK-47 rifles.
Her husband who came out to rescue her was also abducted.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Sunday Abutu, said three persons were abducted based on complaints received from their relations.
Abutu said there had yet to be complaint on any other person.
He added that two persons were arrested during rescue operation and were being interrogated.
The protesters said policemen from the nearby Ologede Police Station along Ikere road arrived in the crime scene shortly after the kidnappers had left.
They condemned the level of insecurity in the land and called on both federal and state governments to urgently do something to save them from criminals.
The protesters carried placards with inscriptions including, “Save Us From Kidnappers,” “We Are No Longer Safe, Government Come To Our Rescue,” “Ajebamidele On Fire, Kidnappers Have Taken Over,” and “No Movement On The Road Until Government Stops Kidnapping.”
