Members of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, have staged a protest and stopped working.
According to the protesting lab scientists, the UCH management has failed to respect court rulings which granted them autonomy.
Specifically, the protesters lamented the non-implementation of the members’ scheme of service by the hospital, relegation of the status of the director of the department and poor working condition.
Chairman of the association, Mr. Oladoyin Oladayo, , told newsmen that the poor working condition is injurious to members working in the various laboratories.
Reacting, however, the Public Relations Officer of UCH, Mr. Adedeji Bobade, said the management of the hospital and executive of the body have already started meeting to resolve the issue.
