Dr. Yakubu Ago has denied accusing the Federal Government of neglecting the school as reported in a national daily recently.
He said the report quoted him while briefing members of the Good Governance tour team on Sunday in Kaduna as saying the government has abandoned the institution and has not continued with its construction as promised.
Speaking in a interview, he said, “What I said was that the foundation of the school was laid sometime in 1990 and by 1992 work stopped in the school only to resume 16years after through the present administration. The money required for the project was made available for its completion and what was completed was just the phase 1, there is a phase 2 that is yet to be completed which I hoped that by the visit of the Good Governance tour team the federal government will do something about the completion of the second phase.”
“I did not accuse government about abandoning the center, so I was very shocked when I saw the report in the paper. The reporter ought to have clarified things before going to press,” he said.
He said that he only appealed to government to make funds available for the completion of the second phase of the center which consists of the demonstration unit.
