In a statement from the college, signed by its public relation officer, Bashiru Abdullahi, the provost said that his advice would help in addressing the problem of unemployment among graduates.
The statement said that Sa’ad gave the advice during the matriculation ceremony of 1, 420 students admitted into the college for Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programme for the 2014/2015 academic session.
It quoted the provost saying: “I want to emphasise on the need for you as students to think outside the box, by being creative and skilful so that you become job creators and not job seekers after graduation.
“We have invested a lot in the area of entrepreneurship so as to train you into better men and women that can pilot the economic affairs of this country.  It is our hope and expectation that you will be wise to seize this opportunity to enhance your capacity and develop yourself to confront the contemporary challenge of economic hardship and joblessness.”
The statement charged the students to be law abiding, hardworking and dedicated to their studies.
It said that the school has embarked on a massive construction and reconstruction of buildings of classrooms and hostels and improvement of its manpower capacity to ensure that the institution gets accreditation to run more programmes at both degree and NCE levels.
The registrar, Fa’iza A. Ahmed, administered the matriculation oath on the new students with a call on them to always be conscious of the oath they have taken and work hard to achieve their goals.
