One of the Support groups of the Presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) Patience Ndidi Key, PNK Support Group, has accused the leadership of deviating from the ideals of the party.
Addressing a press Conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Comrade Ebenezer Olufemi, National Coordinator, PNK Support Group, Students Wing, said as someone who was active during the primaries of the party, the process was dogged with many irregularities.

Olufemi flanked by other members of the group said the virtue Mallam Aminu Kano stood for and aggregated through the auspices of the associations that ultimately led to the formation and registration of the PRP is being threatened under the present leadership of the party.
He said it was “disheartening to see that the same values that has brought many people from all and sundry are gradually being eroded for self gratification. The events of the past few weeks has continued to point to a sharp deviation from the qualities the party is reputed for.”
According to him the “purported primary election of 5th June, 2022 was nothing but a shambolic display of unscrupulousness, disregard for electoral laws, an affront on the sensibilities of party men and a proclamation of irregularities. The primary election which was characterized by malpractices and open contempt for the party guidelines, should not have been accepted as a valid process in the first place.
“Why we frown at such acts is because it contradicts the precedents our founding fathers laid for us, it takes away the independence of the party which has made it survive several decades and it makes us to conform with the valueless style we see in other political parties which we have condemned innumerable times.
“Therefore, we shall continue to mobilize our comrades around the country to resist any form of imposition, manipulation and compromise that seeks to serve the interest of any one man. We shall continue to call on all members of our party of goodwill to lend their voices to ensure the integrity of the party is not lost to selfish individuals who wish to sell it for a morsel of bread.”
Olufemi noted that they had also written to the party to do what is right, adding that while the case is in court, they are waiting for the aspirant Patience Ndidi Key to give them direction on what to do next.
