Coincidentally that’s the same price as will apply to the ‘old’ 80GB PlayStation 3, which will be discounted everywhere from tomorrow until stock finally runs out. Be sure to shop around to find some very tempting bundles – ASDA, for one, is chucking a couple of games in at no extra cost.

And that’s the biggest news coming out of Sony’s GamesCom keynote. However it was also revealed that the BBC iPlayer will arrive soon on the PlayStation Network and that Firmware Update 3.0 will roll-out shortly, bringing with it a bunch of features and useful shortcuts to make the Xross Media Bar and PlayStation Store less of a chore to navigate. It’s all to the good, we don’t doubt.
