He said this at the July 4 celebration of the American Independence Day which took place at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja.
Peter said: “I never imagined a country twist to our song, and I’m quite tripped by what these guys have done.” The PSquare half who said he almost didn’t honour the invitation to attend the event added that: “I’m very happy I was convinced to come and I’m glad I did.”
Expressing their excitement on the performance the Prowlers took to Facebook: “We just played the 4th of July celebration at the US Embassy in Nigeria. As if it wasn’t cool enough to just be there, Peter PSquare (1\2 of the country’s biggest hip hop duo) joined us for his hit ‘Chop My Money.’ Insane.”
Ben Wright who spoke on behalf of the group which performed songs ‘Breaking New Ground,’ ‘The Track,’ ‘Lonesome Road’ and ‘Another Train,’ among others at the event, said: “We would welcome any collaboration with Psquare. The energy between the band and Peter was palpable last night.”
He added that: “Audiences really seem to appreciate the music we’re playing, but understandably really get into it when we play ‘Chop My Money.’”
PSquare had in 2012 don a remix of the same song with award-winning Senegalese American act, Akon, which was a hit. Fans anxiously look out for this remix.
