Public service institute moves to make exams transparent

The administrator of the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN), Dr Abdul-Ganiyu Obatoyinbo, has said all examinations conducted by the institute would be transparent and fair.

He made the remarks at the commissioning ceremony of a Computer Based Test (CBT) Center donated by the African Capacity Building Foundation under the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Africa Capacity Building Grant at the institute in Abuja.

He said with the launching of the 80-seat center, more candidates would sit for exams and that the institute could weed out unwarranted practices in public exam.

He said, “This will lead to transparency and enhanced integrity for our examination process. The center will also promote e-Governance through ICT training.”

He said public servants and institutions could make use of the centre to ensure transparency in recruitment and promotion exercises. The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can also be held at the center, he said. 

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, said all public officers must be incorruptible and productive.
