The release said Sheikh Kabara, who was represented at the occasion by Dr. Mansur M. Kabara, gave the assurance in a message he sent to a 2–day international seminar on “Family Healthcare” organized in Kano by the Forum of Northern Religious Leaders on Primary Healthcare.
It said other commitments of the Qadiriyya movement on family healthcare issues include but were not limited to support of government laudable initiatives in conjunction with philanthropic organizations and individuals.
It said: “Presently, Qadiriyya movement has constituted a 20–member in–house health committee to pursue and spread the gospel of immunization against preventable and communicable diseases.
“Other strategies adopted and being implemented by the movement are re-orientation of its followership for a paradigm shift and attitudinal change for a better family healthcare and ultimately productive society including individual hygiene.
“Leveraging on the outcome of the previous healthcare conferences, Sheikh Qaribullahi said Qadiriyya movement has over the years allocated a vast land for a clinic within its affiliate institution, Turathul Islam College, Gwauron–Dutse, Kano.”
The seminar which was a follow-up of similar ones held in Abu–Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Abuja between first and third quarters of 2013 was chaired by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar.
The Kano conference was declared open by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III and had in attendance the emirs of Gwandu, Alhaji Iliyasu Bashir, Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu and Shehu of Bama, Alhaji Umar Ibn El- Kanemi, while the emir of Kano was represented by the Wambai of Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sanusi.
