Thousands of unqualified teachers are teaching pupils in both public and private schools across the country, the founding Director of a Non-Governmental Organization, Theocy Charity Foundation, A.Y Theodora, has observed.
Theodora made the observation while talking to journalists shortly after an interactive session on the value of a teacher tagged: “I teach and I am cool” in Abuja.
She said teachers were the most neglected workers in both the public and private sectors and many qualified teachers have taken more lucrative jobs elsewhere.
“So, they have run away and left it for the quacks. The quacks have taken over and are teaching our children garbage,” she said.
