In the advert, qualified candidates were requested to bring photocopies of ‘practice licenses from 1996 to date’ which is an aberration! Why?
EHORECON came into existences via an Act no 11 of 2002, inaugurated on 15th March, 2004 by the then Minister of Environment, Col Bala Mande, under chairmanship of Emir of Ningi, Alh Muhammad Danyaya, and started registering and issuing license of practice to Environmental Health Officer [EHO] thereafter. The first set of registered and licensed EHO were inducted in 2005, so how can a qualified candidate be required to bring his practice licenses certificates from 1996 to date, the date which predates the existence of EHORECON.
Or are there set of practitioners that were issued with license to practice by a recognized governmental agency in 1996 which is not known to others?
If yes, which body, and how? Unless the conditions are set to exclude potential candidates and favour selected ones [whom I am sure without equivocation got their license post 2005].
Also, the advert was signed by the outgoing Registrar which was very wrong as he is not entitled to midwife who succeeds him, since it is open to all candidates, unless if there are other reasons not stated. Some are even claiming he should have been in pre-retirement leave.
Since there are laid down rules in appointing the next registrar, these issues need not arise, therefore, all stakeholders in this process should look into these issues and removes all obstacles that will exclude others, and stops anybody from determining who succeed him.
