In a bid to emphasize the significance of education and shed light on the challenges faced by educational systems around the world, the Raha Foundation, a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting education, hosted a seminar on International Education Day. The event was graced by gathering of educators, policymakers, and activists committed to advancing the cause of education globally.

The seminar featured distinguished speakers from Ghana and Nigeria, who shared their insights and experiences regarding the theme “Education Under Attack.” The objective was to bring attention to the various obstacles that hinder access to quality education and highlight the urgent need for investment in this crucial sector.

Dr. Kofi Asare, a renowned educationalist from Africa Education work in Ghana, kicked off the seminar by providing a comprehensive overview of the challenges faced by students and teachers in her country. Dr. Asare spoke passionately about the dire state of infrastructure in many schools, lack of resources, and inadequate teacher training programs. He emphasized the need for increased investment in education to improve facilities, enhance teacher training, and provide students with a conducive learning environment.

Joining her was Ms. Hassana Shuaibu, an esteemed education advocate from ACE charity Africa in Nigeria, who shared a similar sentiment regarding the challenges faced by his country’s education system. Mr. Rasheed, the Co-founder of Raha foundation highlighted the issue of inadequate funding, resulting in overcrowded classrooms and limited access to quality education for millions of Nigerian children. He called for governments and international organizations to prioritize education and allocate sufficient resources to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive.

The seminar also provided a platform for participants to engage in a fruitful discussion about potential solutions to the obstacles faced by education systems globally. Participants proposed strategies such as increased government spending, public-private partnerships, and community involvement to bolster education infrastructure and support teacher development.

Mr. Rasheed, the founder of Raha Foundation, expressed his gratitude to the speakers and participants for their valuable contributions. He emphasized the urgent need for collaborative efforts to address the challenges faced by education systems worldwide.

“Investing in education is investing in the future,” Mr. Rasheed asserted. “Quality education provides individuals with the tools they need to build better lives and contribute to the development of their communities and nations. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that every child has access to a quality education, regardless of their background.”

The seminar organized by the Raha Foundation on International Education Day successfully brought attention to the critical issue of “Education Under Attack.” Through the insights and experiences shared by the speakers, the event underscored the importance of investing in education to overcome the challenges faced by educational systems globally. The call to action was clear: governments, organizations, and individuals must unite to prioritize education and create a brighter future for generations to come.
