The postponement was as a result of the heavy downpour which left the Ikoyi Club Golf Course waterlogged.

A statement issued in Lagos on Saturday by the General Manager, Business and Strategy of Media Trust, Mr. Aliu Akoshile said a new date would be announced for the tournament.

Scores of golf loyalists including the Senate President, Gen David Mark , Otunba Segun Runsewe, Daily Trust Managing Director, Isiaq Ajibola were already in Lagos before the postponement due to heavy rain in Lagos from Friday night.

The stage was already set with banners and pitch panels adorning the environment but with the condition of the pitch, the organizers had no choice but to shift the date.

Not less than 250 golfers according to the organizers have registered for the championship.
