The state, through a direct job initiative of the Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura administration which was flagged off on May 29, 2012 by General Muhammadu Buhari when he visited to celebrate the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) one year in Nasarawa, embarked on the construction of over 300 kilometres of roads after acquiring construction equipment of various categories for the ministry under the 2011 budget.  
Project supervisor and commissioner of Works and Transport, Engr Wada Mohammed Yahaya told Daily Trust yesterday that the construction camps have closed with the intensifying rains, and will reopen by November after the rains subside.  
He said so far, the direct labour initiative has covered 200 kilometres of the projected 300 kilometres, with eight of the 18 roads already completed.
The eight roads are: the 11kms Agyaragu-Kwarra, 13kms Sisinbaki-Kwarra, 7kms Tudun Wada-Karshi, 17kms Gudi-Langalanga, 15kms Andaha-Angwan Zaria, 15kms Ashige-Gidan Bubwa, 24kms Idadu-Agbashi, and 22kms Lafia B.A.D.
