Over 200 widows and single mothers in Ilorin, Kwara State, benefited from the annual Ramadan outreach organised by the Olushola Folake Mutiat (OFM) Charity Organisation.

The programme, tagged Annual Ramadan Feed the Widows and Single Mothers Project, was designed to put smiles on the faces of indigent women during Ramadan and ease their burdens.

Items distributed during the event include rice, beans, maize, Maggi and salt among others.

The initiative was supported by several notable individuals in the state and diaspora.

They include the founder of Al-Hikmah University, Alhaji Abdulraheem Oladimeji, senior legal practitioner Yusuf Ali (SAN), Abdulrahman Abdulrauf Adesina, and Mutiat Adebola Yusuf, a New York-based Nigerian.

Others are the Emir of Shonga, Alhaji Haliru Yahaya, and Yaqub Daud of Ghalib Chambers.

Speaking at the event, a prominent Islamic scholar, Lukman Isalekoto, commended the donors for their generosity and encouraged beneficiaries to cultivate the habit of giving, stressing that acts of charity are not limited to the wealthy.

He further advised mothers to ensure their children receive both western and Islamic education to build a balanced worldview and urged widows and single mothers to always put Allah first in all their affairs.

He prayed for Allah’s continuous guidance and blessings for the founder of the charity and all those who contributed to the outreach.

The founder of the OFM Charity Organisation, Olushola Folake Mutiat, expressed her gratitude to all donors, noting that their support ensures the vision and mission of the foundation become a reality.

She urged Nigerians to embrace acts of kindness and charity and encouraged beneficiaries to remain resilient and steadfast in their faith.

Some beneficiaries commended the foundation for its efforts and urged the founder not to relent in her humanitarian work, highlighting the positive impact of the initiative on their lives.
