A non-governmental organisation, Muslims Self-Help Association, has donated food items to 170 widows, orphans and aged women in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Headquarters in Kaduna State.
Among the items donated to the women were maize, millet and sugar.
The leader of the group, Muhammad Umar, said their goal was to reach the less privileged in the society, especially widows and orphans.
The chairman called on individuals, government and corporate bodies to assist the cause by providing support to the less privileged persons in the society so as to give them a sense of belonging.
Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke with Arewa Trust Weekly, expressed gratitude to the group for the donations.
