The Muslims Teachers Association of Nigeria (MTAN), Abaji Area Council branch has distributed grains and sugar to widows in the area.

Chairman of MTAN in the area, Malam Abubakar A. Jimoh, while presenting the grains at Pilot Science Primary School, yesterday, said the association decided to assist the widows to enable them carry out the Ramadan fasting.

He added that the gesture would reduce the hardships the widows were facing during the fasting.

He said the association had also been giving support to vulnerable groups in the area since over a year ago, adding that it also built mosques where needed.

Mrs. Rabi Abdullahi, who was among the beneficiaries, thanked the association for identifying with the widows in the area, and called on wealthy and well-to-do individuals in the society to emulate the association.
