As the Ramadan fasting begins, Muslims in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) have been urged to pray for the country and engage in humanitarian activities.

AMAC chairman, Abdullahi Adamu Candido, who made this known in his Ramadan message described the period as a month of reconciliation between Allah and His servant to seek for forgiveness and mercy through commitment and dedication to worship.

Candido in a statement by his chief press secretary, Jibreel Muhammad Babangoshi, assured residents that with their prayers, the administration would perform better than his first tenure.

“He urged Muslims to feed the poor, the needy and the orphans as one of the practices of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) even if it’s with half a date (dabino),” the statement read.

He commended the people of AMAC for their support during his first tenure adding that when sworn in for the second term on 20 May, a new chapter would begin.
