The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, has arrested 19 suspects and dismantled several drug joints in the Gezawa community.
The raid is part of the ongoing efforts to curb illicit drug activities during and after the Ramadan period.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Kano by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sadiq Muhammad-Maigatari.
Muhammad-Maigatari quoted the State Commander of the agency, Mr. Dahiru Yahaya-Lawal, as saying that the operation was conducted under the command’s ongoing “Operation Ramadan Mubarak.” (NAN)
He noted that the initiative aims to safeguard public health and preserve the sanctity of the holy month.
The NDLEA spokesman added that the agency carried out the operation following credible intelligence from a concerned community member.
According to him, items seized include Cannabis sativa, Diazepam, Exol-5, Pregabalin tablets, and a street drug popularly known as “Suck and Die,” along with other controlled substances. (NAN)
