The lone goal that handed the Antelopes of Enugu the win came in the dying minutes of the match after both sides had missed so many scoring chances.

Speaking to Fever Pitch after the match, Kwara United captain, Isiaka Olawale expressed disappointment over the home defeat.

He said the result of the match did not reflect the exact performance of his team.

According to him, Kwara United played better and deserved to win.

Olawale however said all hope is not lost for the team as he maintained that the Afonja Warriors can still progress by taking revenge against their opponents in the return leg.

“It is not yet over for us. We can go to Enugu and beat Rangers 2-0 and then progress in the competition. Although by then I would be in camp with the Beach Soccer Eagles, I am still confident the rest members of the team would give Rangers a good fight”, he stated.
