RATTAWU General Secretary Comrade Henry Odugala said the decision was reached after consultations nationwide with union members, where it was agreed government should be given the benefit of doubt by allowing it to implement the agreement reached with the unions
Odugala said union members and other stakeholders at a meeting held recently with the ministers of Information and that of Labour and Productivity agreed for the immediate release of fund for digitization and financial assistance to NTA, FRCN, NAN and VON to ameliorate the problem of equipment decay.
 ‘’We also agreed  to convening an emergency meeting of Council on Information to assess the state of preparedness of state governments owned radio and television stations as well as all inclusive stakeholders forum to access the road map of Nigeria Broadcasting Commission on digitization as well as expedite action on the salary harmonization.
 “Part of the decision arrived at the meeting was that NTA should resolve without delay all issues concerning the agitation of its staff that retired under the contributory pension scheme by reporting its findings to the union and representatives of the concerned retired workers,” Odugala said.
