The union’s call was sequel to the prequalification for broadcasting signal distribution licence advertorial which was placed by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and Digiteam Nigeria.
General Secretary of the union Henry Odugala who made the call in Lagos at the weekend, however said the development was a welcome one.
 Odugala said “while the union is not against any company bidding or being awarded the licence, we are however requesting that any company i.e. any TV signal provider that has been operating in the country illegally should not be considered under any name or pseudonym for flouting the law of the country.
‘’If reports milling around is anything to go by, the allegation is that a company known as- GoTV or its promoter- was not licenced to operate Digital Terrestrial Television in the country and has been operating and spreading in the country.
