The Young Adults and Youth Affairs (YAYA) ministry of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has announced plans to host the Mega Music Festival 2.0 on June 12, 2026, at Tafawa Balewa Square, combining worship, national prayers, and youth empowerment initiatives.

 Speaking during a press briefing held at RCCG Chosen Generation Parish on Lagos Island, the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Youth Affairs, Pastor Sola Olukoya, said the event, themed “A New Season,” is expected to attract thousands of worshippers from across Nigeria and beyond for a night of praise, prayer, and prophetic declarations.

 According to him, the programme is more than a music concert, describing it as a spiritual gathering aimed at seeking divine intervention for Nigeria and ushering in a new phase of national transformation.

 “This gathering is not just a music festival or another event on the calendar. It is a divine appointment designed as a night of intense prayers, heartfelt worship, prophetic declarations and thanksgiving unto God,” Olukoya said.

 He noted that the choice of Tafawa Balewa Square carries deep historical significance, being the venue where Nigeria’s independence was proclaimed in 1960.

 “On Democracy Day, from this same symbolic location, we will raise our voices before God and declare a new season for Nigeria’s economy, education, security, families, innovation and opportunities,” he added.

 A major highlight of the event will be the launch of the RCCG Young Adult and Youth Tech Fellowship, a programme being implemented in partnership with Reach4Christ to train more than 100,000 young Nigerians in digital and emerging technology skills.

Olukoya explained that the four-month virtual fellowship will offer training in data analysis and visualisation, software development, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, product development, and other technology-related disciplines.

 “Our mission is to equip young people spiritually, mentally and professionally, giving them the tools required to access global opportunities, build enterprises and contribute meaningfully to national development,” he said.

 Responding to questions from journalists, Olukoya expressed optimism about the country’s future, describing the festival as a platform for spiritual renewal and hope.

 “There is hope for Nigeria. We believe this gathering will inspire a new season of restoration, progress and transformation for the nation,” he said.

 Also speaking at the briefing, the National Youth Pastor of RCCG, Pastor Jacob Obaro, disclosed that organisers are expecting more than 200,000 participants from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo and other states, while millions are projected to join through online broadcasts.

Obaro said extensive transportation arrangements have been made, including free buses from major locations across Lagos and Ogun states, as well as train services for participants travelling through connected rail routes.

 “We have made adequate arrangements for transportation. There will be free buses from strategic locations across Lagos, while train services will also be available for participants coming from areas connected to the rail network,” he said.

He added that over 5,000 volunteers have been mobilised to support security, logistics, medical services, sanitation, and other operational responsibilities to ensure a safe and orderly event.

 The Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Youth Province 18, Lagos, Pastor Anthony Ibe, said the technology fellowship forms part of the church’s broader efforts to prepare young Nigerians for opportunities in the global digital economy.

 He explained that participants will attend virtual classes three times weekly over a four-month period at no cost.

 “The programme is free of charge and is designed to help young people acquire practical digital skills that will enable them compete favourably with their peers globally,” he said.

On welfare arrangements, Pastor Titi Olukoya assured participants that adequate provisions have been made for volunteers, families, children and nursing mothers attending the programme. 

“We want everyone attending the programme to be comfortable. Adequate welfare arrangements have been made for volunteers, families, children and nursing mothers,” she said.

Organisers disclosed that leading gospel ministers, including Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan, Yinka Alaseyori, Bidemi Olaoba and Gospel Force, will lead worship sessions during the event.

Other ministers expected to participate include Pastor J.F. Odesola and Pastor J.T. Kalejaiye, while the General Overseer of RCCG, Enoch Adeboye, is expected to offer prayers and prophetic blessings for Nigeria.
