Re: 2019: PDP remains Nigeria’s strongest party — Jonathan

The “Inside Politics” report, in Daily Trust of Tuesday, 14th February 2017, which featured Nigeria’s former president, Goodluck Jonathan, shamelessly predicting that PDP is the party to beat in 2019,at a time when Nigerians are grieving and mourning about the monumental corruption being exposed in the media, at the NNPC, NBC, NNDC, INEC, as well as, numerous banks,  financial institutions, plus several other public and private establishments, including himself and his wife, Patience, who abused public trust and perpetrated  economic  crimes,  during his 6 years infamous  tenure, is the highest display of impunity and insensitivity.

There is no denying the fact that, under Jonathan and his party, the PDP,  Nigeria became a notorious vineyard for criminal atrocities, mismanagement of national resources  and kleptomania,  which had pervaded and  crippled the country at all levels of governance. President Muhammad Buhari and poor Nigerians are currently grappling with its aftermath.    In other countries, with civilized code of conduct, people  like Jonathan would have been made ,not only to be remorseful, but would have  equally been legally compelled, to pay the supreme price of moral infidelity, by going to jail, for the rest of his scandal-tainted life!

For some time now, former president Jonathan has been taking undue  advantage of President Buhari’s gentleman’s dignified generosity and protocol, by abusing  this honour and displaying unethical brands of diplomatic belligerence and ingratitude, which his recent unguarded comments in the U.S Congress  represented, during which, he averred to the problems of insecurity and disunity, which were, both,  traceable products, directly instigated by his vaulting ambition. After all, some of the most notorious criminal gangsters like the Niger- Delta Avengers and other juvenile insurgents terrorizing the country were his sponsored wards, created solely, as his tribal militia force.

The former President must learn to play the role of a repentant statesman, by coming out to publicly apologize to all Nigerians and permanently keeping quiet.
