But that is being charitable to him. If we employ scepticism, as modern life imposes upon us, we may simply see him as a paid PDP agent; paid to join other gladiators in showing that APC is not an alternative to PDP. My reason is simple: even during the unfortunate events that led to the 1966 coup, there was a government in office. So if APC is not in office come 2015, it means PDP will continue to rule, even if the Dame is the only voter.
The other issue canvassed by the writer is that of new blood. This was the basis of his “old wine in new bottle” thesis. But in life we find certain facts contradicting what he clamours for. In medicine, for instance, you do not prefer a fresh graduate to professor of medicine, just because you need fresh blood.
Many have invested years in political life. They have organized parties, contested elections or promoted candidates. Many have promoted causes that are dear to the people. All these have enriched their political profiles; and to simply expect them to stand aside to hand over the affairs of a nation to a greenhorn with questionable degree is an abuse of reason.
Then, he showed his PDP hand by saying that there is no one in APC with any credentials better than members of PDP!
We may forgive the author if he has been living abroad. For we may ask: is General Buhari not in APC? What about Fashola and Oshiomhole? Add to that are millions of Nigerians who earn their daily tuwo or amala legitimately and who subscribe to APC simply because General Buhari stands for principles they hold dear.
He has identified with the common man, while (PDP chieftains) are supporters of status quo.  It bothers them not for 90 per cent of the population to be in the dark for they can ‘afford’ a 24-hour power generating sets from public purse. They drink bottled water while we drink raw water from public taps, when available. Our children enter public schools to be ‘dwarfed’ for life, while theirs are trained overseas to continue with the legacy of internal apartheid.
This is what PDP rule means to us. If we are not perfect in the formation of APC, let the perfectionists await the descent of the perfect party and its  angelic officials from heavens; but the correct reading is that they want PDP to continue; for as maggots they feed well when there is rot.
