I’m writing to register my disappointment with one of your media outlets (Daily Trust) over an unfortunate opinion piece titled “Because of Cows” written by Dan Agbese. It appeared in the edition of Sunday, July 1, 2018.

This coming at a time when our Fulani herders in Nigeria are facing a coordinated media attack to demonize and incite hatred against them; there is also a seeming consensus to blackout violence against us and our property. 

Of all the media outlets in Nigeria we had thought Daily Trust being our flagship, which we have supported by buying it daily and driving adverts to it, would be our hope in these trying times. 

Unfortunately with articles with such a title featuring in your newspapers we can now say we are losing hope for fair media reportage on the side of the Fulani herders. We hope Daily Trust will not allow itself to be used as a platform to incite hatred and violence against us in Nigeria and elsewhere. We also hope our trust in Daily Trust is not misplaced. Thank you.
