Re: Borno: Where were they?

Their opinion may not be unconnected with the visit of Mamman Imam (a former Borno State chairman of ANPP and former Commissioner in the cabinet of former Governor of Borno Senator Ali Modu Sheriff) to the state in a presidential aircraft at the weekend as an advance party to herald the reception for the long-awaited visit of the former Governor Ali Sheriff to the state after several abortive attempts in the past.
The hard-earned peace recorded in Borno State within the shortest period of time since the assumption of office of Kashim Shettima as the Governor should not be allowed to be mortgaged into the hands of demagogues and semi-illiterates who value no human except prebandalism all in an effort to achieve parochial political goals.
The much talked about planned visit of the former governor is ill-motivated and ill-timed and, to say the least, bunkum as far as the interest of the state is concerned. If one would go by what the victims of the Boko Haram say, one can comfortably conclude that these shenanigans ought to answer the questions raised than the razzmatazz of the visit.   Indeed where were these thugs and their masters when innocent people of Borno State were being massacred unjustly on the streets, in the mosques/churches, in the market-place, at wedding venues, at home and in the schools? Indeed where were the masters of the paid thugs when Maiduguri stood-still due to incessant insecurity threats posed by the activities of the insurgents?
The truth of the matter is no more than a contest between truth, falsehood and fantasy; that which is uncouth and that which reality is.
It is therefore the resolve of all well-meaning people of Borno resident in the state and in the Diaspora including our brothers and sister from other states of the country that have been living with us in Borno State that no amount of political propaganda, sabotage or social brigandage would dissuade us from supporting the interest and direction of Governor Kashim Shettima.
