Hajiya Safiya Dantiye, probably have not realized that most men and women (parents) tend to value or dream of having female more now than male children because of many social vices align to the male child especially in today’s society. Really, it is not convincing for people to generalise that all men are not fair to their parent but we can’t prevent people from holding their notions out of their observation, experience and good reasoning.
True, I was moved emotionally recently when a woman I met in car lamented that girls education is even more necessary, valuable and significance now compare to that of boys because the girls do remember, have sympathy and favour the parent more when they are  independent and doing well. I analysed this point with much sorrow and concern but in total agreement with the statement. Today it is a common development as many men neglect their parent after marriage for the wives, children and bad life styles.
So in essence men tend to have more responsibilities than women when working but everything requires discipline, sacrifice, patience, compassion, fear of God. Indeed it is the primary responsibility of children, both male and female, to cater for their parents after marriage or grown up. In the case of choosing between a governor’s mother or his in-law it all depends on the woman involved and her values. Sadly, many men today will rather think of more wives, luxuries, cars, expensive wears and burden at expense of their parent.
