Our attention has been brought to the opinion publication of S. Mamu of Wednesday 5th October 2016 edition of the Daily Trust newspaper  in which the writer alleged that the operator of NCE distance learning programme of NTI Nyanya studies center are extorting N2, 500.00 from candidates every month
We want to clarify here that the said N2, 500.00 extortion from students is a false and far from the truth. Nyanya study center is one of the best study centers of NCE distance learning in the country and we make bold to say that the management of NTI is proud of the study center both in terms of academic performance and good conduct of students.
It is on record that the study center which started with less than 200 students population presently has over 1000 students excluding thousands who have graduated and engaged in different establishments. Evidences abound that our school results is one of the best in the country because of rigorous academic work, our zero tolerance for examination malpractices and strict adherence to discipline.
If truly there is an extortion as falsely alleged by S. Mamu, the issue would have been raised or reported by any of the affected students during periodical inspections by the Center Desk Officer (CBO), State Coordinator or the Zonal Coordinator of NTI in Abuja.
We challenge S. Mamu and the victims of the alleged extortion to present a receipt or proof of the N2,500.00 collected on monthly basis by our study center. We equally invite well-meaning Nigerians and investigative journalists to investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators of the act to book.
NTI as we all know is an institution established since 1976 solidly to train qualified teaching staff at all levels and to provide that at minimum costs to both the Students and the Education Authorities, we will never engage in any act that is inimical to the principles and policies of the institution.
